ForeFlight Mobile 6.2.1 Submitted to App Store

Earlier today we released version 6.2 which includes support for our new data sync capability. Some customers are experiencing an app close after updating to 6.2, which is a result of a data migration process when run against large numbers of recent routes and plates.
We jumped on a fix as soon as the issue was detected. A fix for customers experiencing this issue is in version 6.2.1, which is submitted to App Store and pending review. As a workaround, customers can delete and reinstall the app if they need to bypass the issue.

  • As a paperless pilot this is a serious unexpected hit to me this morning. The time required to download new charts IFR/VFR is significant. It also shows some flaws with both Apple and Foreflight

    1. The fact that we now have to wait for a review from Apple to get the fix out is a serious flaw in the store with respect to applications like this that are mission critical. Stuff happens and I don’t know what the delay is but waiting for a “review” gives me no ETA, no comfort.
    2. The fact that I cannot just reinstall without loosing my data is both an iPad and potential Foreflight issue. There should be a way to reinstall without loosing data.
    3. I will have to reconsider having automatic updates on. This updated automatically on me and when I got up this morning to get weather brief and file this was quite a suprise.
